70+ abandoned cats, from an unfortunate hoarding situation, are in desperate need of URGENT rescue and veterinary care
The City of Lincoln and OSPCA have limited their involvement, claiming the cats are feral; however, these animals are rotting with health issues, NEED INTERVENTION, IMMEDIATELY, and can't be ignored. The community reports most of these cats are friendly, but hearts are breaking, as the surrounding neighbourhood watches their situation worsen, with every passing day.
Having relied on the home's tenant for food and water, the colony is suffering because she is no longer tending to it. They are in and out of the- now abandoned and filthy- house, being hit by cars daily, some dead and rotting on the property, and many in visible distress. Because these animals are starving, disease and parasites are thriving on the property, and without immediate care, all will suffer and die.
TO DATE, because of our combined efforts with BEAMSVILLE 4 PAW RESCUE, an approximate 80+ cats have been rescued from this site, but there is still lots of work to be done, and more cats to be saved from the property. The average cost per rescued kitty is $250, including rescue, veterinary care and fostering, so we've had to increase our initial fundraising goal from $10,000 to $30,000! We have seen incredible successes and HAVE TO KEEP GOING UNTIL THE JOB IS DONE!
