Hello!

On the evening of October 03 2019, our family was suddenly hit by the shocking news that my sister, Lucky Winnie (single and 27 years old) was in a terrible motor accident on her way home in Fort Portal, Uganda. A trailer knocked her down, ran over her right leg, and crushed it from the foot up to the point above the knee. Imagine the excruciating pain and loss of blood she experienced at that moment. She almost died!

Lucky was rushed to Buhinga Hospital in Fort Portal where the crushed leg was amputated. A few days later we transferred Lucky to Nsambya Hospital in Kampala for more surgeries and further treatment.

After spending two weeks at Nsambya Hospital, Lucky was referred to CoRSU Rehabilitation Hospital, where she is currently undergoing surgeries and treatment.

The challenge and why your donation is important

Lucky Winnie has had several surgeries at three different hospitals: Buhinga; Nsambya; and CoRSU Rehabilitation Hospital in Uganda. As a result, the medical expenses are increasing every day; yet, she is in desperate need for additional surgeries and extensive treatment. According to her doctor’s recommendations, she is expected to remain in the hospital for another six months.

Your donation will help Lucky cover for these surgeries, rehabilitation, and related expenses. With your donation, she will be able to recover without the additional worry of how to pay for these unavoidable medical expenses.

Victory and hope

Lucky Winnie’s story is not about tragedy; rather, it is about victory and hope. She is alive with great hopes and dreams of becoming whole again and continuing her career and the pleasure of singing. With your donation, she will be able to do so with a thankful heart for your kindness and generosity.

Moreover, Lucky looks forward to healing so that she can continue serving her community, taking care of her aging parents, and providing for her siblings, as she used to do before the accident.
