Hello everyone. My name is Teza. I am the common-law wife of Christian, whom we fondly call Kit. He will be the recipient of this fundraiser. Through this, you'll be able to help a 34-year-old father battle his Stage 4 Chronic Heart Failure, Cardiomyopathy, Lung disease, Pericarditis, and Ascites.

Kit and I have been together for 9 years now and we are blessed to have an amazing son - Nathan, who is a 6-year-old first grader. We are a happy, small family with hopes and dreams for the future. Our lives took a 180° turn when Kit was brought to the ER in Mendero Hospital last March 2018

Kit was having severe cough, GERD, and difficulty in breathing last March 2018 which led me to bring him at Mendero Hospital. He was extremely weak and can hardly walk and talk. As standard practice in the ER, lab tests were performed including x-ray. When the result of the xray was in, we were asked if Kit has been doing strenuous activities for the past year because his xray shows that he has Cardiomyopathy, or in layman's term - heart enlargement. His heart is almost 3 times bigger, and his lungs are cloudy due to Pneumonia. We were then transferred to a private room. We were referred to a Cardiologist - Dr. Joshua Camomot, and a Pulmonologist - Dr. Raymond Reel Bontol. Unfortunately, on the third day of being admitted, Kit's bp started to drop gradually. It came to a point that his bp was only 70/60. It continued to drop until, the nurses can't hear his bp using the stethoscope and they can't feel any pulse. We were then advised to be transferred to the Intensive Care Unit asap. We refused to be transferred due to lack of funds but I was so thankful to my mentor and neighbor - Sir Bhonie Alia, for being there to support Kit and I emotionally and financially. He was able to convince us to not give up, to have kit transferred to ICU, and left us with some financial assistance to help me buy the meds of Kit while he was at the ICU. We stayed for a total of 10 days last March 2018 at Mendero Hospital. His final diagnosis was Dilated Cardiomyopathy with Chronic Heart Failure Stage 3 + collapsed right lung, functioning only at about 30%

April 2018 came, and Kit was again, admitted at the hospital for difficulty in breathing. We stayed there for 4 days, 3 nights. He still has cardiomyopathy and heart failure.

Fast forward to 2019. This year has been very challenging to us. Kit was again admitted last January 2019.

We were back at the hospital last April 1 - April 11, 2019. This time, aside from having Cardiomyopathy, he had a stroke, and his heart failure from stage 3 is now stage 4. At this point, the cardiologist informed me that Kit's heart failure is progressive. His heart enlargement will remain enlarged as it will take years to have it reduced, with little chances of getting it back to its normal size. Kit stayed at the ICU for 6 days during this admission.

June 10, 2019 - June 19, 2019
We were back at the hospital again for another admission. This time Kit has severe bipedal edema, edema on his legs, thighs, and upper torso. Fortunately, he didn't have to be in the ICU. We were discharged after most of his edema were flushed out but the water retention in his abdomen still remains.

And again, July 10, 2019, exactly 1 month from his previous admission, we are back at the hospital again. This time due to extreme pain and swelling of his abdomen, difficulty in breathing, weakness . We were told by our Gastroenterologist - Dr. Cherry Jorquia that Kit has Ascites with bacterial infection. Last Friday, July 12, 2019, Kit underwent a minor surgery called Paracentesis. This is done to drain out the water in his abdomen. We were very hopeful that doing this surgery will finally solve Kit's Ascites. Unfortunately, the surgery was not successful. Kit's gastroenterologist can't drain the fluids in his abdomen because it is not possible. We found out that he has Subcutaneous edema and draining of the fluids is not possible. Kit's abdomen is still enlarged/swelling and all we can do is let Kit take diuretics. We are still here at Mendero Hospital as of July 13, 2019

We did everything that we can and even tried stem cells treatment. But we have been in and out of the hospital multiple times already that all of our funds have completely depleted. Both Kit's savings and mine had been used up to pay for his hospital bills and maintenance medicines since last year. Maintenance medicine for the heart is not cheap. One of Kit's maintenance meds for the heart costs Php145 each and he has to take it everyday. Some of his meds cost Php63 each and has to also take them every single day.

We are out of funds. My dear family and friends, I am knocking on your kind hearts. Please help me save Kit. Any amount, no matter how small will mean so much to us. We also appreciate prayers ❤️

With a grateful heart, let me thank you all in advanced for your help. If you will have a difficulty in sending funds here in GoGetFunding, here are other ways to send in your help:

We are still at the hospital. Kit's cardiologist wasn't able to do some rounds yesterday. Good thing, he came to check on Kit earlier today. As stated in my previous post, Kit had a 2D echo with doppler yesterday. Dr. Camomot said that it is confirmed that Kit has pericarditis.

Yesterday (July 13) late afternoon, we were already given the clearance by both cardiologist and gastroenterologist that Kit can already go home. We were not able to process the discharge because we still lack funds. So we decided to just let Kit stay here at the hospital while I find. . . . .
