Hi, my name is David Whittaker. For so many of us, the year ending has brought happiness and renewed ambition. Many people reached their goals and resolutions. This year has brought my family struggle and triumph; not to mention worry and stress. My fiancee was diagnosed with Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophy in June of 2013. She had rapid muscle loss in her lower legs, moving into her upper legs and was constantly in pain. She knew something wasn’t right, but had no idea that the damage would be irreversible. Slowly she is becoming less and less mobile, having to give up her favorite activities. This disease may be taking over her body, but she refuses to let it take over her life! She and her parents are currently in Amsterdam for treatment, however she is unable to get the medical support she needs there. They will be moving to Rotterdam soon so Kirstie can join a clinic and get proper treatment. There are break-through studies being done and miracles are happening! Please help Kirstie in her journey to a more promising future! Kirstie did not ask me to set this up to ask for donations. I am doing this because I do not want to see her family stress over medical bills when she is trying to fight this. Several of you have also approached me to find out if there is a fund to help. Your donations will help with her medical expenses, moving expenses, supplements or food that she needs and is greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for any support that you give her through this fight whether it is a donation or the continuation of positive energy and light. With all of us banning together, we will fight with Kirstie!
