Save Toos, Moos and Mees!

Hi there, this is Laura and Lloyd. We are a Dutch and an Aussie living in Malaysia. A year ago we decided to regularly help foster/rescue abandoned kittens and puppies in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. We love taking care of animals since there are so many that need our help and this is something we are happy donating our time and money for. Recently, we took in a litter of four kittens plus the mother. We named them Toos, Mees Moos and Kees, and the mother is called Meis (all Dutch names)! A week ago we noticed that Toos had an abnormally swollen belly. Now, it turns out she (Toos) and two others (Mees and Moos) have Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP). This is a viral disease caused by a feline coronavirus. It is a very painful, incurable disease with a low to zero survival rate. There is currently no legal medicine for this, but there is a black market treatment by way of an injection. Over the last year, there have been thousands of cats and kittens cured with this injection called GS-441524. However, all three kittens would need to receive this injection everyday for 84 days. We are committed to giving this a go and commenced the injections last weekend in the hope that the treatment will be successful so they can live their life to the fullest. The kittens are currently being monitored and attended to daily by vets who administer the injection. We are looking to raise USD$1500 to cover the costs of the vials of medicine and associated expenses for the three kittens over the 84 day period. As part of their treatment, they will also need a daily dosage of painkillers, plus monthly blood tests. And if and when the treatment is successful, they will then need to be observed by the vet for another 84 days, with more blood tests needed. Without our help and your assistance, it will be a painful existence for the kittens eventually leading to their death. Any donations would be greatly appreciated in our efforts to save them.
