Tonic – Staff & Waiters Donations

Dear Friends, Family and Fans of Tonic and Tanen

In the wake of the President’s speech on Sunday 15 March declaring South Africa as a State of Disaster due to CoVid19, we in the hospitality industry have been incredibly hard hit.

For the last few months, things have not been great as it is in an incredibly strained economy but we have somehow managed to get by.

As of this week, we have never felt panic like we are currently feeling.

Sadly, we live day to day at Tonic and have had almost zero customers this week – this is devastating for us.

Tonic supports 6 permanent staff members who are all parents and bread winners as well as the owners and their young family with 2 small children. So to close our doors will have just dire consequences.

Last night the laws for serving alcohol have also changed and it feels like another nail in our coffin.

We are at a loss on how to keep going in light of these new developments but for our family and staff we need to try.

We have modified our services to include delivery and take out and we can only hope that we generate some income that way.
