SAVE Tiger Academy of Gymnastics
Tiger Academy of Gymnastics opened in Columbia, MO in 1980 within the walls of the University of Missouri as a way for then MU Head Gymnastics Coach, Jake Jacobson to hire an assistant coach and buy equipment for the program. TAG joined the MU Gymnastics Team in their state of the art gymnastics center when it opened 2 years ago.
Since its opening Tiger Academy has grown into a tremendous program that is the home to over 500 students, 75 of which are in our Adapted Gymnastics Program. Our Adapted Gymnastics program caters towards providing gymnastics and fitness to children with special needs.
Tiger Academy provides excellent gymnastics and fitness to a variety of students ranging inage from 2 to 16, boys & girls, beginners to Level 10.
This past April, Tiger Academy was asked to leave our home as of Sept. 1, 2013.This did not leave us with much time to fundraise for the funds we needed to continue our 33 years of providing gymnastics to the community.
So far, TAG has acquired new ownership, our wonderful director, Amie Butler, has stepped up and became the new owner on June 1st. And we managed to find a new facility to house our program!
However, as we currently use all of the University of Missouri Gymnastics Team's equipment, we need to purchase $150,000 worth of equipment for our gym to be operational and fully handicap accessible for our gymnasts with special needs.
Approximate Price List of some of the equipment we need:
Spring Floor: $20,000
1 Balance Beam: $4,000 (with landing mats) we would like 5 beams
1 Set of Bars: $5,000 (with landing mats) 2 sets would be great
1 Vault: $3000 (with landing mats) 2 would work
Any extra funds we recieve will go towards MORE equipment!
Who could say no to a trampoline?
Help us buy equipment for our completely empty new facility!
