Save the Vaquita Marina! Only 30 left alive in the world

We are a group of neighbors from Puerto Peñasco, Sonora (Rocky Point) concerned about the highly endangered Vaquita Marina, who lives in the Gulf of California ( is the only place of the world where it lives). In July of this year the government declared that only 30 individuals of this kind are left, product of the ruthless and indiscriminated fishing in the area. We will use the funds gathered to set up a comunity patrol at the harbors and nearly waters to identify and report the fishing boats that kills the remaining Vaquitas. The local and federal government don't care at all about this, so the local folks of Rocky Point will stand up and do whatever its in our hands to prevent extinction of this beautiful animal, we have been using our savings but its not enough due to the vast area that needs to be watched, and the price of the boat and car fuel have been rising since last year. we are very grateful of what you can donate, every cent collected will be use in this desperate effort!!
