Followers and Supporters,
Please be sure to visit us on facebook, Save the Strays Schuylkill. We offer assistance with feral cats/ kittens through TNR (trap/ neuter/ return), we TNR adult cats and sometimes kittens. If we have the space and financial ability we bring feral kittens into our network of homes for socialization. Once a kitten is rehabilitated (sociaolized), we are able to place the kitten up for adoption. We provide feral cats with altering, shots, parasite prevention and control. We provide kittens with leukemia/ aids testing, altering at three months of age, shots, dewormer, flea prevention if old enough, dawn dish soap baths if too young. We, from time to time, access an emergency vet for sick and injured kittens/ cats. We utilize many clinics and our emergency vet. Our hearts are bigger than our wallets, so we need help. I want everyone to get a break down on the costs, so here it goes; food costs an average of $20-$50 weekly, flea preventaive $22-40 monthly, wormer [email protected] monthly, testing for leukemia/ aids $14-$18 per cat/ kitten, cleaners needed monthly $25-$40 monthly, litter $10 weekly, altering a feral cat $15-$35 per cat, sponsoring a cat $35 (covers altering and shots), we are in need of more traps, they cost $25 each, special medical supplies $20-$5 monthly, and emergency evt visits usually cost about $60-$150 per visit, depending on the needs of the animal. We have had bot fly larvea removed from several kittens, had an ulcerative painful eye removed from another kitten, and had a polyp removed from another. We have recieved kittens on deaths door and brought them back to health with medications. For each animal in our program, we provide everything needed for that animal, including the love of being with a family. Our kittens/ cats are socialized around families to allow for better pets. We need doantions to help us conitnue our work. If you have any questions, please find us on facebook and call or email us.
