The marine ecosystems are dwindling! To me personally, this is heartbreaking, so I am opting to spend as much free time as I can attempting to "Be The Change" I want to see in the world.
Day to day this consists mostly of recycling and being conscious of how I can minimize the footprint I leave. BUT- I want to do more and be involved in bigger more direct change! Which is why I am hoping to volunteer with Reef Conservation International. Unfortunately, I work as a biology lab tech and need some help making this happen. I ask that you take the time to google the belize barrier reef and how lionfish are reeking havoc on their environment. Then, if you feel like you can help me in any way, please do so. My volunteer trip will mostly consist of surveying the reef, identifying various fish (I have already started studying) and controlling the lionfish population.
Thanks for everything!
