Save the future of Fauzia`s HIV/AIDS infected & affected orphans

Fauzia in the picture above is an old woman in her late 60's who lives in the suburbs of Zana in wakiso district of Uganda. She had 3 children that is 3 daughters and 2 sons. Her first son Joseph died 7 years ago in a car accident leaving behind 2 children between the age of 1-3yrs. Their mother had earlier separated from their father and settled down with a fish monger along katosi land site. The 2 orphans were left in the hands of their grandmother who survived by selling charcoal as her major source of income through which she raised money to buy food, pay for rent, pay school fees for the orphans of her deceased son & also cater for other basic needs of the family.

2 years later, one of her daughters returned home with her 2 children and a pregnancy. She also had bruises on her body which were a result of strokes she sustained from her alcoholic husband having found out she was HIV+ when she went for antenatal at a community health center. The reason for her being chased out of the house was because she had contracted HIV and was likely to pass it on to the husband. She joined the family of her ageing mother plus the 2 orphans of her late brother. Grandmother lived up to the mercy of God to provide for the family because her income didn't increase despite her challenges. One year later, the daughter passed on because of depression and lack of social and medical support which contributed to her increased viral load leaving behind an HIV+ baby.

With no experience & knowledge of how to take care of the HIV+ baby, grandmother chose to keep her elder granddaughter Maria out of school in order for her to look after her late aunt's baby who was helpless.

The old lady's desire is to see her grandchildren (orphans) back to school attaining their education so that the can have the ability to grow their future carrier and also impact their communities, Please support her through this cause so that she can have access to school fees and medical supplies for the orphans. she would also want to start up a small income generating activity which can help her raise money for self sustainability such as being able to pay for rent & food and other basic needs of the family.
