HELP US SAVE THE ELEPHANTS NOW AND INTO THE FUTURE
Save our elephants now is the only organization in the world devoted exclusively to the conservation of Africa’s Elephants. Our team of leading biologists and law enforcement experts develop innovative strategies to address the dire threats facing different species of elephants. We are on the front lines, fighting to stop poaching, prevent conflict with people, conserve elephant’s habitats, and reduce unsustainable illegal hunting. These proven strategies don't just protect elephants—they also protect their vast landscapes and the endless variety of life within them. These wild places are crucial to our planet’s health—and our own.
We conduct vital research on elephant behavior and ecology and pioneered GPS radio tracking in Africa to provide fresh insight into the life of elephants. After 18 years of intensive monitoring the elephants of Samburu are one of the world’s best-studied populations. We also assist in implementing UN-level program to monitor the illegal killing of elephants. Our solid scientific data has helped shift international policy towards a better future for the species.
We work with wildlife departments, protected area managers and communities to assist their efforts to defend elephants against ivory poachers and traffickers. We also develop and deploy cutting edge tracking systems to monitor and protect elephants. Through the Elephant Crisis Fund we have supported more than 49 partners in the implementation of over 145 different projects in 29 different countries (December 2019) aimed at stopping the killing, stopping the trafficking and ending the demand for ivory.
Where your money goes
$1,000 can keep one of Save the Elephants’ bush planes in the air for nearly 3 hours conducting aerial patrols to check up on collared elephants and responding to alerts generated by Save the Elephant’s tracking system.
$3,000 will purchase an elephant monitoring collar, allowing organization to remotely monitor and protect individual elephants across Kenya.
A donation of any amount can build the capacity of Save the Elephant’s Mobile Education Unit, which cultivates positive attitudes and behaviors among students toward wildlife.
