Campaign Story
Can a girl with a birth deformity on her right hand become an artist. I think yes. Meet Samina ,a 11 years old girl from a remote village of West Bengal India has the birth deformity called 'Thumb Duplication'. Its a rare (not rarest) condition of deformity that affects a person's natural movement. Though Samina's case is infact more affective as the twin thumbs of her right hand are thin and inactive. Neither she is able to grab anything nor she can hold her pen properly. She is the only child of her parents. Her father is a mason and like every other average destitute countryman, lives under Below Poverty Line. Her father's daily drawing is $4 and he can hardly carry the burden of his family responsibilities. Samina is also diagnosed with malnutrition deficiency syndromes.
But her God has not turned his eyes from her entirety . Samina is gifted with great artistic capabilities of drawing. She is a great artist and her creativity would make you astonished. She cant afford a art teacher so whatever she draws is only of her own credit. She doesn't even have the money to by colours or pencils. She reads in my school in class vi where I work as a non teaching staff.
She needs a surgery to make one of her thumbs active. The cost of the surgery is $6000 and we have successfully managed to get $2200. Now we need additional help from you to give her a wonderful life.
