Roma Orlov needs our support!

Roma, being sponsored by his step-father, arrived to Canada 8 months ago as a newcomer. He's 18 yo, young and bright, eagerly looking forward to his future in Canada. While Roma and his family began settling in a new country and happily building their future, bad news has stricken the family - Roma was diagnosed with Kidney Cancer. While the sponsorship application is still being processed, no OHIP coverage is available to him. No one could have predicted this devastating news. Roma underwent surgery and the first round of treatment. His family hoped the worst was behind them, and that the fight against their son's cancer was over. and they won the battle. Roma’s family was able to get an interest free loan of $25,000 from a community supporting organization in Toronto to cover the bill, and were sure they would be able to pay down the loan within a few years.

But Roma's condition continued to worsen and his parents' worst fear had become a reality when Roma was admitted into the emergency room overnight in early May- the doctors found metastases, the cancer had spread.

Currently, Roma is in the hospital undergoing chemotherapy and other treatments. The family is focused on their son’s recovery and not on finances, but are still responsible for paying all of the upcoming bills for Roma's treatment.

Roma and his parents are very strong, positive, and optimistic! With our support, we will keep Roma's fighting strong.

Рома приехал в Канаду 8 месяцев назад и сейчас на программе спонсорства своим отчимом. Молодой 18 летний парень, яркая личность, с нетерпением предвкушающий свое будущее в Канаде. В то время, как Рома и его родители начали обживаться в новой стране и строить счастливое будущее, плохие новости ударили по этой семье - Рома был диагностирован раком почки. У Ромы пока еще нет покрытия государственного медицинского страхования (ОНIP), т.к. документы на спонсорство все еще в процессе. Никто не мог предсказать таких разрушительных новостей. Роме сделали операцию и он прошел курс лечения. Его семья стала надеяться, что худшее - позади и что они с сыном победили рак. Ромина семья смогли получить безпроцентный кредит на $25,000 от одной из общественных организаций в Торонто, чтобы оплатить счет из госпиталя, и были уверены, что они справятся сами, выплачивая кредит в течении несколько лет.

Но состояние Ромы продолжало ухудшаться и самые худшие страхи родителей оказались реальностью, когда он оказался среди ночи в госпитале, в отделении неотложной помощи. У Ромы обнаружили метастазы - рак распространился.

Сейчас Рома проходит лечение в госпитале, включая химотерапию. Семья сфокусирована на его скорейшем выздоровлении, а не о финансах, но рано или поздно они все-равно будут обязаны оплачивать счета из госпиталя.

Рома и его родители остаются очень сильными, позитивными и оптимистичными! С нашей поддержкой мы способствуем Роме оставаться сильным в его борьбе!
