Campaign Story
Murdock is a 7 1/2 year old golden retriever who is now a retired registered Clinical Service Dog. For many years he worked out of Greenfield, MA and Crossville, AL working with the mentally ill, children, adults and the elderly. Now he is happily retired in Gig harbor, WA and spends most of his days playing with his four year old boy who loves him very much.
What has happened...
In December 2012 Murdock was dx with heartworm even though he was on preventive medication the entire time. The vet has stated that Murdock will have to get 3 rounds shots (one per month for three months) bloodwork and x-rays. For a grand total of $1,200.00. The vet believes that Murdock is a good candidate for treatment due to his age and his current low activity level.
As most people know that heartworm is created by a single mosquito bite, and what is not told is that sometimes the meds don't always cover the dog 100%. Murdock is part of our family, he was our first child in a way and we don't want to lose him to this disease.
Murdock is currently on preventive meds to kill off any eggs and larva that is in his blood system now. But he will require treatment very soon.
Rewards.....
For a donation of $50.00 we will send you a copy of "The Alzheimers Prevention Diet and Cookbook".
The Alzheimer’s Prevention Diet and Cookbook takes the latest research on Alzheimer’s disease and shows how natural ingredients and diet changes can add a layer of protection around the brain, fight the plaque accumulations associated with Alzheimer’s disease and encourage neurogenesis, which is the regeneration of brain cells.
The Alzheimer’s Prevention Diet and Cookbook offers a four-week meal plan, 10 pages of research including 26 cited studies, 81 recipes designed to protect against Alzheimer’s and 17 full-color photos in a traditional cookbook format. Each recipe identifies the beneficial ingredients and how they interact with the brain and body. This book allows the most novice of chefs to utilize household ingredients (such as cinnamon, coffee, and blueberries) to make delicious dishes and take a proactive step in fighting a disease that will effect one in eight people over age 65.
With the average cost of care for an Alzheimer’s patient currently totaling more than $800,000 – with much of the cost being passed on to Social Security – and more than 10,000 Americans a day turning 65-years-old, it is imperative to make a proactive move in addressing this crippling disease. The Alzheimer’s Prevention Diet and Cookbook is a change people can make today to protect themselves from a disease that costs America $94 billion a year, devastates families and takes everything from those diagnosed with this crippling disease.
