Campaign Story
Pooka was dumped at in the playground of Jenks Academy in the Chestnut Hill neighborhood of Philadelphia. He was found by children as they arrived in the morning prior to school. Pooka was severely matted and unable to walk. His leg was twisted beneath him and he was covered in filth and feces.
Staff members from the school were able to take him to an a available veterinarian's office where he received kind and compassionate treatment. There it was discovered that Pooka's rear paws had rope marks on the back indicating they had been tied. There was a deep gash on one that had become infected and he could not put weight on it. Two other paws were also worn by infection to expose the tendons. The doctor feared amputation might be necessary and referred him to an Emergency Clinic.
The Emergency Clinic determined that it would be best for the clinic to apply a daily cleansing and bandaging regimen with multiple antibiotics in order to save the paw. Please help us pay for this treatment and medical bills associated with Pooka's recovery.
