Hearts for John
The John Montanaro Fund
to help save pets with cancer
John F. Montanaro III loved dogs and all animals. For his high school senior project he decided to raise money to provide cancer treatment to pets with cancer whose owners could not otherwise afford treatment. He raised money during school by selling candy bars and then donated all the proceeds to the Ocean State Veterinary Specialists in East Greenwich, Rhode Island.
John passed away at age 19, in April 2011, after a long battle with leukemia. After his passing, the Ocean State Veterinary Specialists created the "John Montanaro Fund" in his memory.
As a memorial to John, we created "Hearts for John" which is a non-profit group that continues his cause and raises money to continue to save pets with cancer. We accept donations and also sell items on our web site: http://www.heartsforjohn.com to raise money for veterinary cancer treatment. All proceeds raised go directly to the "John Montanaro Fund" at Ocean State Veterinary Specialists.
