Help mums and babies from perinatal centre in Zhytomyr

Please support my fundraiser. Help newborns at Zhytomyr Perinatal Hospital in Ukraine survive Russia’s war.

The hospital was struck by the Russian missile fire on March 1, 2022.

Zhytomyr Perinatal Hospital is only institution in the region of 1,2 million people that provides specialized obstetric and neonatology care. Every year 2.600 children are born in the center, including up to 100 babies with extremely low birth weight requiring neonatal care.

About 45 pregnant women and 18 newborns (including two babies with extremely low weight) were reallocated into the basement of the hospital after the Russian missile fire.

The maternity wards are seriously damaged and not operational. The windows are smashed, critical medical equipment is broken.

At this moment the mums and newborns are all located the basement in severely compromised conditions. The basement is normally used only for water, electricity, and heating. The babies cannot stay there.

The newborns are at serious risk. They urgently need medications, equipment, food, and restoration of the maternity ward of the hospital. Some of them have to be transported to other hospitals.

The Ukrainian doctors and volunteers continue to operate in the basement. They work day and night to save the mums and newborns, but they need your help!
