Together with my family and friends, we are knocking on your kind hearts to help us pay and support Rowelyn Cinco, my mother's chemotherapy and further medication needed for her illness. She is currently confined in National Kidney and Transplant Institute (NKTI) - Philippines and is undergoing the 2nd out of the prescribed 8 cycles of chemotherapy.
She has been hospitalized in Surigao City, Philippines last March 24 to 28, 2019 with Dengue as the diagnosis. However, after 13 bags of platelet plasma and 5 bags of RBC, her condition did not get any better. Due to this, her doctor referred her to a hematologist in Cebu City. She was then admitted to Perpetual Succour Hospital from March 29 to April 4, 2019 with Pancytopenia likely Aplastic Anemia as the initial diagnosis together with some blood infections. Given the length of treatment for her illness and our financial status, we decided to transfer her to NKTI for another opinion and seek financial assistance from government agencies given that NKTI is a public hospital. It is during this confinement that she was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) after the Bone Marrow Biopsy result came out.
Prior to this incident, we were already only getting by. Given the financial predicament of my family, I, as the eldest child, have been supporting my two brothers' education as well as the family's daily expenses. This unfortunate event in our family has taken an unexpected blow to our finances, leaving little to nothing to help pay for my mom’s condition. My savings was drained, and I have exhausted all the loans my company could offer to pay for my mom’s hospitalization since March 24, 2019. Our family and friends have been helping us financially, but we have already used almost all the funds that have been pooled to pay for the past month's hospital expenses. We’ve already reached out PCSO, DSWD and some generous politicians for guarantee letters that can be used to reduce our hospital bills, but despite all this, bills for the continuous treatment continue to pile up.
With this, I am reaching out to your generous hearts to please help us provide the necessary medication to cure my mom. As a daughter, I would like to provide all the necessary medication for her to make her condition better. However, given our financial status and my capabilities as a 27-year old who has just started her career, I am afraid that my mom’s treatment will have to be halted without your assistance.
I am truly hoping for your kind consideration and generosity. Rest assured, any help we could raise from this will be used for my mother's hospitalization and medication. We will uphold transparency and will provide a financial breakdown upon request to show accountability of your hard earned blessings. Our family will heartily donate any excess funds raised from this fundraiser to other charities and people in need after my mom's treatment. May we all be an instrument in saving lives and dreams.
Thank you so much for your time.
