I am an English volunteer in Ghana with my four year old son. For the past year I have been staying with my adopted Ghanaian family rent free so I can carry on with my charity projects. The family are honest, kind and hard working market traders. Unfortunately two days ago the river burst it's banks, demolished the protecting wall and flooded the house, destroying the children's toys, clothes and a lot of personal items. At the hight of the flood the water was waist deep in the house leaving the children very scared but the main concern is to rebuild the protective wall so that the house is safe and habitable again. Every time it rains we are at risk again. As a charity worker my child I have little money to live on so we just don't have the money to help this wonderful family and they have nowhere else to live.
