With this crisis all around the world many sectors are affected. But trust me for the tourism one it was brutal.
By the way I'm Erika, my dad Romuald started a family business 9 years ago using his bus to do tours and help people discover all Baltic areas. The project was a success, so it needed to go bigger. That’s where myself joined the team. With an experience in tourism I try to make tours even more interesting and built connections with Europe, Asia and the United States. Dad had to invest everything add to loans to buy more buses to have a good service for our clients.
Till now it’s a good story, isn’t it? Let us add some spices,
well 2020 was supposed to be a great year for us, with hard work of the family we took big contracts. We were ambitious and proud but down to earth...MID-March was as for the entire planet a big shock. Everything started to fall apart. We stayed strong even though all our customers started to cancel the reservations and we had to refund everyone. As a family we kept faith, we had no choice but to believe. The government said we are not priority which somehow we are fine with, as long as the bank postpone our monthly bills.
End of August, we received from the bank a letter asking us to start paying bills again or they will have to take our buses. We tried to explain to these lords of money that it is not that we don’t want to, it is that we really can’t. Tourism season in Lithuania is from April till September and this year is a lost one for this sector. We negotiated, we tried, we explained that even our savings is not enough. If they take the buses they will take what we worked hard for, our dreams, our jobs, let me be more clear, our everything.
Not to mention that for the bank, our buses are useless. We even tried to sell one of our buses for half price, just to pay the bank, but no one is buying.
The government, our support system, is not willing to help. They pretend they can’t, while our job was always to bring people to spend money in Lithuania and to give the best image of our country.
And now after we are out of solutions, we decided to ask you to help, you are really our last hope. We are creating this fundraising asking people who believe in supporting family business, to help us with any donation possible, all amounts are welcome and we thank you in advance for your generosity, we are also up to give you unlimited assistance while travelling in our countries and discount on chosen travel services when we come back to work and this pandemic ends.
May you all stay safe, and hope you will never be in a similar situation as our family. And hope one day, somehow, somewhere, we or simply life, will give you back many many more of what you will donate.
