Currently within Myanmar, the military has illegally taken power and staged a coup, leaving thousands in danger and ignoring millions of votes.
Millions of people in Myanmar are fighting for their own human rights, taking to the streets to stage peaceful country-wide protests, with some losing their lives.
The military has started to impose stricter rules and laws to inhibit youth groups from spreading awareness and raising support, with internet blackouts and orders stating 100lk (roughly $7000) in fines and jail-time occurring if found using vpns or carrying specific technology outside.
Right now the military is enforcing a dictatorship, but the people are fighting back, soon the internet will be out again soon, leaving many vulnerable and unable to reach the outside world for help.
The peaceful demonstrators are powerful and are strong, however they need everyone to join to win.
With a large majority of people in Myanmar already living in poverty, many who wish to join the demonstrations are unable to due to low income, they aren’t able to stop work for even a day as their family relies on the income to live.
We are trying to give stipends to those living in poverty so while they fight for democracy and human rights their family is able to live.
We need your help to reach as many people as possible which are standing up to dictatorship and are in dire need of aid.
Money raised will go towards payment of rent for families facing eviction, food for them and their children, hygiene and sanitary products, COVID-19 protection items and medical care for those injured during the demonstrations.
Even if you aren’t able to donate, please help us to raise awareness of the current situation in Myanmar, anything helps, thank you.
