Save My Son

Here's the story...My son got involved with drugs and stole some jewelry to pay for his addiction. He got caught and now faces jail time if he doesn't pay restitution to the victim. He is trying to save the money but will definitely come up short by the deadline. If he doesn't come up with the money, he will most likely spend a year in jail.

I know what you are thinking...He deserves to go to jail! I totally understand why you feel that way but I am his mother and I am desperate to help him get a second chance. He's never been in trouble before and if he pays restitution, the charges will be lowered to a misdemeanor instead of a felony and he will get probation. He's back at home, clean and sober. He's trying to straighten out his life and move forward.

While I feel guilty and selfish for asking, my plea is to other mothers that have gone through the same thing. If 6000 of you donate just $1, you will be able to help a young man become a productive, successful man instead of having a felony on his record for the rest of his life.

I know this request will draw a lot of criticism and rightfully so. However, until you watch your child go from being a sweet, naive kid to a drug addict, you'll never understand the lengths you'll go to help them. I've spent the past year watching my child self-destruct and now he has a chance to live a clean and sober life.

For those of you willing to help, thank you. The others, I totally understand and just ask that you not judge if you have not experienced this hell.
