Hi, I'm Mariz Anne Aprilyn Aledo from Iba, Zambales.

I was only 8y/o when I was diagnosed with Valvular Heart Disease,Anterior Mitral Valve Prolapse.

I underwent an eventful testing and medications for 19 years until my valvular heart disease has caused severe damaged to my mitral valve which require open-heart surgery.

By early 2021,my condition had worsened causing my heart to become enlarged as it worked harder to move blood between its chambers.

My mitral valve had a "severe regurgitation" (leak).Mitral valve regurgitation occurs when the heart's mitral valve doesn't close properly,allowing blood to lead backward into the chamber leaving less blood for the heart to pump.

My doctor recommended open-heart surgery to replace the valve as I have progressive Heart failure symptoms.The cost of the procedure is Php 866,595.

Despite my joyful outlook,my journey has been marked by decades of medical ups and downs.

I don't want to lose faith because I know I will be able to get through this.I don't just want to survive.I crave to live.
