In December of 2018 Mr Peter was experiencing chest pain and when he went to the doctor, where he was referred to a cardiologist who after conducting his tests diagnosed him with Wolff-Parkinson's-White Syndrome (WPW.) A rare heart disorder which is a result of an additional electrical pathway created by his natural pacemaker. This condition can be rectified surgically by means of an Electro Physiological Study (EPS). Through this procedure the cardiologist will be able to cut off the additional electrical pathway and restore his heart's normal rhythm by means of cardiac ablation.
This procedure needs to be done urgently as he is at risk of having a full on heart attack. So he has been scheduled to undergo the EPS on 23rd January 2019. In three (3) weeks time. The funds will assist him in getting back to a normal lifestyle and being able to work without disruption. The alternative is being on heart medication for the rest of his life but this doesn't remove the risk of the heart attack. Having the EPS is the only permanent remedy to his condition and he really need to have it done. It will cost me $6500 (R91,000) to have this life altering procedure done.
