Please help a 9 years old girl who is going to perish for the wrong reason.
Mary is a Filipino domestic helper working in Singapore. Coming from a very poor family background, she has gone through all odds (from her husband objection and various affairs, to leaving her own two young daughters at home) to work in Singapore with the hope for a better future for her daughters. Unfortunately, the past year has hit her hard. Her dad suffered from a construction accident and is now paralyzed. Her husband has left her and the two kids for a new family.
Most devastatingly, her elder daughter, Kimberly, was in a hit and run motorbike accident two months ago. A painful experience yet not that rare in the Philippines is now threatening to take her life. She was walking on the street when hit by a motorbike, was operated and sent back home for recovery. Some complication pursued and after two months, Kimberly is released by the hospital, left alone in the worst condition, being given up by the system and the adults. This is not even some rare disease. A young promising life is ending for a very wrong if not lame reason.
This is Kimberly when first admitted to hospital after the accident
Kimberly on 27th October 2019. Her stomach and her arm.
There werent any help except for the one time 130 SGD equivalent from the local province. There was no insurance, no government welfare, no help at all for the child. Mary’s mom passed away several years ago from breast cancer. She had to support her paralyzed dad. Her poor family is used to live on few dollars per day, they couldnt offer any help. Mary sent all of what she had back home for the operations and hospital fees. They almost had to cut away Kimberly’s leg but in the end decided not too. We thought Kimberly would be on the way to recovering after all the mishaps. Unfortunately, the fever appeared and persists. Then there found to be heart issues and complication. After another month in the hospital, the doctor released her yesterday. She is back home now, left to wait out her fate.
I'm Mary's employer. I did not think it would come to this day. I dont understand medicals and am not there to know the situation fully, but I believe that Kimberly could be well again if treated and and cared for properly.
In all seriousness, every penny counts. Please.
