Save Kieran, He’s My Only Family

On the 27th of April, whilst volunteering in rural Indonesia, Kieran was involved in a car accident and has suffered serious injuries. He fractured his skull and I’m still waiting to hear if he suffered any brain damage. He has two broken ribs that caused internal bleeding.

Kieran. 22, and I, Blake 20, are siblings and we were orphaned as children. After finishing high school Kieran got a job because he couldn’t afford to get into university, while working the year after school he got a scholarship at the Kyoto University. He has been studying at the university for two years now and he’s been involved in community projects, especially involving children because we lost our parents. He has taken this semester off to volunteer in Indonesia, the program promotes and helps underprivileged children with comprehensive educational and knowledge on nutrition.

Kieran is currently in an Intensive Care Unit in Padang, test are still being being done and the extent of his recovery is uncertain. He is in an induced coma and can not be moved. The driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries and will be discharged soon. I flew in to see him on Monday, I’m missing school but we only have each other.

I’m supporting the hospital bills with my scholarship but this will not be enough. The funds from this campaign will provide for the critical medical procedures, recovery and rehabilitation that Kieran will need. Kieran and I have been through a lot in our lives but this feels like the worst because I don’t have him here supporting me. My brother is the most caring and supportive person I know if you, we would greatly appreciate your help in our time of need. Thank you to all.
