Jenny Dagdag Barot, 47, an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) in Israel, is the mother of my best friend of more than 10 years, Hiro Barot.
Last Thursday (July 11), she suddenly fell into a coma because of a ruptured brain aneurysm.
Prior to this devastating event, she has been taking maintenance medications for her hypertension.
She still remains unconscious today and is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in a hospital in Jerusalem away from her family in the Philippines.
Tita Jenny, a single mom of three kids, is the breadwinner of the family. She has not been home to the Philippines since 2012.
Bella, their youngest who resides with her, just turned three while Tita Jenny is in the ICU. She spent her third birthday without any family in Israel.
Hiro, through the help of friends, will be on his way to Israel this week to be with Bella and their mom.
Hospital and other daily expenses for her and Bella are the main financial burden right now. Tita Jenny's cousin and close friends in Israel are pitching in for the meantime. But their efforts could only last for how much longer.
