SAVE Hollywood Hills Neighborhood from being Commercialized

We are the HOLLYWOOD HILLS RESIDENTS ASSOCIATION, trying to preserve the quality of life and home values in the areas between N46 AVE, Johnson Street, N56AVE and Hollywood Blvd. This area is being threatened severely by the impending variance requested by Chaminade Madonna School to the City of Hollywood Planning & Development Department to install Stadium lights on their field.

Chaminade Madonna is looking to install (eighty foot) 80' light towers on the field that sits right in the middle of a residential neighborhood. These lights will enable Chaminade to host night time events on their field bringing estimated 1,100-1,200 fans to each event. The parking will become a nightmare as they expect to accommodate 350-500 cars for these events. Traffic in this area will increase tremendously and noise and litter from these events will ruin this otherwise quiet residential area. This area will become a commercialized area causing this area to become undesirable for residential living.

Neighborhood residents have had to form and Association and hired Attorney and Professional Witnesses to prove at the hearing and possibly in a court that granting this variance is a direct contradiction of the citywide master plan of the City of Hollywood. Studies have been made by Real Estate professionals that property values will be dramatically negatively impacted in this area if this variance is approved. It was also noted that this negative impact on the residences of Hollywood Hills area surrounding the school campus will carry over to other areas and neighborhood in Hollywood, Florida.

This GoGetFund page has been established to help with the legal fees and court costs that will be incurred as a result of having to defend our community. There are 506 home is the immediate surrounding area of Chaminade Madonna that will be hurt if this variance is passed. We ask financial cooperation from all the immediate residents of the school to contribute so that we can argue and protect our rights at the upcoming variance hearing and in court.

If the variance that Chaminade wants for those stadium lights is approved we will lose our quality of life in our neighborhood and we will lose the values of our homes. Many homeowners have stated that if this is approved they will sell their homes. There will be too many residents selling at one time and therefore our homes will lose their values. Please contribute so that we can have proper legal representation to stop this from happening.
