Save for a Football Pitch in a Poor Village

Hello! I am the founder of QIU Foundation. Our foundation is deemed to raise money for kids in poor villages and to provide them with football pitches, safe facilities to freely play their beloved football.

I came from a poor village in East Asia. I went to a school in the city 20 miles away from my village. We had 6,000 students in the school, but we only had 1 undermaintained football pitch used for more than 20 years. Luckily, I became the first one who managed to enter university, but my neighbours are still in poverty. Last year, I saw British kids in their villages enjoying state-of-art grassland and national bodies funded football programmes. I really envy it, so I want to learn from you and provide the kids in my home village with free opportunities to enjoy their childhood and their love of football.

Our kids love football very much, but they don't have safe equipment and space for them to play. The village is crowded and underdeveloped, so our kids often play in a wasted barn where broken glasses and wastes are not very ideal for them to play. The local government just resolved the problem of fresh water supply in the village, and they do not have the capacity and willingness to build new infrastructure.

I feel I have the responsibility and duty to change this harsh situation for my home village. I am doing part-time jobs to fundraise money; meanwhile, I am looking for your help to give a hand to our kids, realising their happiness and dreams about football.

I acknowledge that there are many villages in east Asia, central Asia, Africa and Central America where kids cannot have a safe environment to play football or other kinds of sports they are passionate about. It's a shame that the governing bodies are collecting taxes but hardly help the population in poverty. It's not the kids' fault to be born in poverty. We need to give them a chance to make their lives better and happier. Just imagine the smiling face on their face when they have a green, beautiful, and safe football field, I and you would also be the happiest person in the world, because of our efforts.

After finishing this project, I am looking forward to fundraising for another, and another, then another...
