Last June 14, 2018, Erich Ong (23 years old) and I (22 years old) had an accident. We were already on our way home when we got hit by a car, Isuzu Crosswind, while crossing the pedestrian lane (in front of Bayantel Roosevelt St. S.F.D.M. Q.C.). We were rushed to Capitol Medical Center that night. I suffered minor injuries, only bruises and a broken nose, while Erich suffered several injuries, including a brain injury. She had brain swelling, hematoma, and multiple fractures in her skull. The very next day, June 15, 2018 she went through her first operation. The doctors had to remove her skull for her brain to heal properly. Thank God, her first operation was successful. It became a waiting game for us. She stayed in the ICU for 10 days, 3 weeks total in Capitol Medical Center. We noticed several changes in her when she got discharged. She had a hard time speaking and suffers expressive aphasia. There was also 'facial paralysis' on the right side of her face. She also suffers memory problems. She forgot certain events like the accident and has a hard time remembering the things she studied in college. After two months August 7, 2018, she went through her second operation in Philippine General Hospital. The doctors put back her skull. Unfortunately, weeks after her operation, she got infected that led to another operation just last week, September 19. The doctors removed her skull again and cleaned it. Another operation will follow after three to six months. The doctors will put back her skull with titanium on it to lessen if not completely eliminate the chances of her skull and brain getting infected. I am kindly asking for your help in this process. It is truly a challenging time for us and we are doing everything we can to provide her the best medical attention we can get. I am asking your kind hearts to help Erich fulfill her dream of graduating in UST AMV-College of Accountancy and becoming a Certified Management Accountant and you can start by donating for her operation and rehabilitation.
Thank you so much and God bless us all.
