GLEN'S STORY Hi, thank you for reading. At the start of this month, Glen, a very hard working, father of two, was locking up his recently opened, small family restaurant after a long days work. His wife and children (aged 5 and 7) were sat just outside in the car ready to go home. At this point their lives changed. Three armed robbers stormed the restaurant demanding money, Glen gave it to them in fear of his life but as the thieves left they were disturbed by a member of staff outside. They opened fire- shooting the staff member through the chest and Glen through the leg. His children sat metres away in the car. The gunmen then forced Glen's wife and children from the car and stole it. Both Glen and his chef have survived their injuries so far. But now your help is needed. HOW YOU CAN HELP Where the bullet hit Glen's bone has been badly shattered and he is in desperate need of an operation. Unfortunately on the island where he lives they are not equipped to perform this. Glen is lying in the hospital, untreated in unbelievable pain. This families only hope at having their father restored to health and able to walk with them again, is to have him flown by air-ambulance to Barbados where the operation can be performed. The families own savings and much generosity and help from the island's strong community has thankfully raised enough now to pay for the air ambulance, so Glen is flying today (10/03) after a two week agonising wait, to Barbados. HOWEVER the devastated family do not have the money raised to cover the cost of the operation Glen so desperately needs and to pay for his after care. This is why they are turning to YOU.
