Save Cesar’s Spine

My father, Cesar Victa, 75 years old, had a surgery on his lower back on April 2, 2019. He was diagnosed with DISC PROFUSION L3L4 & L4L5 WITH SPONDYLOLISTHESIS; L4L5 WITH SPINAL FORAMINAL STENOSIS. The spine doctor performed INTERBODY FUSION L3L4 and L4L5 with CAGE; PEDICLE SCREW FIXATION L3L4L5 with LAMINECTOMY and FORAMINECTOMY. After the operation, he was doing well for about a month. Then, he started suffering from pain in his lower back radiating to his right leg. He would describe the pain as 10 in the pain scale of 1-10 and has been taking strong pain medications. The pain didn't go away and prompted us to rush him to Emergency Room. He got admitted again and CT Scan of Lumbar Spine revealed an infection in the spine and an impression of OSTEOMYELITIS. The doctors found out that that there is an infection in the Lumbar 5. Then, another surgery was done on June 13, 2019. Since then, about 90% of his waking hours is spent in writhing pain. The strong pain medications put him to sleep and that’s the only time he is spared from the pain. All of his finances have been spent on the two surgeries and the expensive medications. About half a million pesos (in Philippine Peso, about 10K US Dollars) is needed for the next four weeks’ post surgery medication. We were told to complete 6 weeks of intravenous antibiotic treatment. We are now on our 3rd week. When the infection is gone. the doctor's last resort is to perform Radio Frequency Ablation (RFA). RFA is a procedure used to reduce pain. An electrical current produced by a radio wave is used to heat up a small area of nerve tissue, thereby decreasing pain signals from that specific area. Needless to say, it is an expensive procedure and currently, only one hospital in the Philippines perform this procedure. Please help save our father's spine. Saving his spine would also mean saving his life. He is now confined at Davao Medical School Foundation in Davao City, Philippines. Please help our father.
