Save Cebtech Furniture

CebTech Furniture is a Pretoria based furniture manufacturing concern. At the beginning of 2020 they employed over 130 South Africans. COVID lockdowns hit them hard, but the owners decided to keep the company operational and continue to pay their staff rather than sell.

Since then, they have focused on taking care of their workers and their health. The owners haven't drawn salaries since January 2021 so that they can keep staff.

The week of KZN looting was a make or break for CebTech. Deliveries that could have saved the business could not be made. Since then, they have had to start intense downsizing. Members of senior management have voluntarily resigned to help the business, while as many as 60 factory workers have lost their jobs.

CebTech needs R1 million by 30 August 2021 to pay their 180 day owing bills, in order to keep manufacturing and delivering orders, and so keeping their remaining staff. Without this float, more drastic measures will have to be taken, more people will lose their income, and a truly South African business will lose its foothold.

This business has been gainfully adding to the SA economy for a decade, creating jobs, training and upskilling people, buying local, but since COVID has just not been able to keep up. They need our help to keep going long enough to find investors. If R5 million can be raised, the business is saved and workers could even be rehired.
