Save Baby Maeve – Biliary Atresia

Born on July 29, 2018, Baby Maeve Jayla Malate Lopez, is a happy child. Always smiling even though life has been tough for the past few months.

She is suffering from a liver disease called "Biliary Atresia". This is a disease of the liver and bile ducts. When a baby has biliary atresia, bile flow from the liver to the gallbladder is blocked. This causes the bile to be trapped inside the liver, quickly causing damage and scarring of the liver cells (cirrhosis), and eventually liver failure. Biliary atresia cannot be treated with medication. She needs liver transplant which costs a lot of money.

Her tiny body is fighting this horrible disease that no child should ever go through. She's been through a lot of injections, antibiotics and medications which really takes toll on her small body. She even underwent biopsies and intubation procedure.

Both of her parents worked as sewers and their salary is not enough for this kind of procedure. They are currently taking care of her at a government hospital, which means they do not have any source of income right now. We asked the local government to subsidize her treatment but the amount is beyond its capacity. We have also reached private organizations for help but still we could not raise the amount that is needed. Friends and family are trying everything to find ways to provide the needs of this family.

Even though body weakness is evident, you could feel her courage to fight for her life. Let's not let her do this all alone. She is in dire situation right now and your help is vital.

We sincerely ask you for any amount to support their family. To date, they have gathered ₱20,000($381.97) and they need ₱2,000,000 ($31,197). Let's help this little angel experience the life she truly deserves.
