Campaign Story
Baby Kara Mae Gauci was born on August 24th 2021 as a preterm baby. She was transferred directly to the NPICU in Malta. As days passed by Kara was getting better according to her weight as she was born only weighing 1.78kg. But the consultant, doctors and nurses noticed that she was having episodes that involved bradycardia and desaturations. They did every test possible in Mater dei hospital, Malta and these tests didn't give us any definitive answer about what is causing these episodes. Our wish is to transfer Kara to a hospital in the UK that specialises in pediatric care for the hope of finding the cause of the problems and the care for the problem.
