BABY BELLE
Baby Ananiah Isabelle A. Espeleta is from the Philippines. She has been diagnosed with Biliary Atresia, a life-threatening condition in which the liver's bile ducts do not have normal openings. Baby Belle, as what her family fondly calls her, has been suffering from this disease since birth. In August 2012 and barely 3 months old, she underwent a preventive surgery called "Kasai procedure". At 8 months old, her doctor has advised her parents, Abbey Asilo-Espeleta and Erwin Espeleta that she needs to have a liver transplant before turning a year old in May 2013 for long term survival. The surgery costs PHP 4 million (CAD 80,000) and needs to be done in Taiwan.
TURNING ONE
When a child turns one, parents usually throw them a party to celebrate. Baby Belle's first birthday will be far more different from having balloons or blowing candles on her cake. It will be one which all her family members will forever remember because this will hopefully be the day when they get to say, "Happy birthday and may you have many more years to come!".
CHANCE AT LIFE
The funds being raised is only a portion of the amount needed but will help the Espeleta family provide the best care possible for Baby Belle. It will be used for her liver transplant, medication and post operation expenses. The funds that you will donate will give her a better chance at life. Every dollar you give will bring her a step closer to being a healthy and happy baby.
WHO WE ARE
We're Mommy Abbey's highschool batchmates from Colegio San Agustin - Binan based abroad. We started this project to somehow spread the word and get more people to care for an innocent baby girl battling a rare disease.
