Save A Smile with Waikiki Health

Save a Smile with Waikiki Health aims to raise $7,500 for pediatric dental services for disadvantaged children at our future Medical and Dental Clinic in Moiliili. Researchers have found associations between cavities, gum disease, and heart disease. Bad oral hygiene can lead to increased risk of infections, gingivital and periodontal inflammations and increased migraines. Keeping baby teeth healthy is critical to reduce all sorts of health problems in adulthood. Help us out give the children growing up in tents here in Honolulu a fair start in their lives! Waikiki Health operates five sites in Honolulu. Our main medical clinic is in Waikiki where we provide primary care, behavioral services and Native Hawaiian Healing. We also manage the Next Step Shelter in Kakaako, where individuals, couples and families receive temporary shelter, medical care, integrated behavioral health services and job training. The Care-A-Van program offers services at a drop-in-center in Kaimuki and provides outreach medical care using medically-equipped vans and a mobile medical unit. The Youth Outreach program offers homeless youth, between the ages of 14 and 21, services (medical care, hot meals, GED prep courses and job training) in a safe, non-judgmental environment in Waikiki. And, Path clinic provides perinatal, behavioural health and social services for women with past or present addiction issues in a comfortable, home-like setting. And, in 2014, Waikiki Health will establish a new service site: The Makahiki Medical and Dental Clinic.

Pediatric dental services will ensure children receive the dental care they need. The $7,500 we raise in this campaign will go directly to a pediatric dental chair in Moiliili. A pediatric dental chair is expensive, but with your help we can provide services to kids in need.
