I am Jessamy Honny D. Albao, from Masbate, wife of Xavier P. Amador, an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) who is under medical treatment in Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, Abu Dhabi, UAE for over a month now.
Xavier or Eks as fondly called by family and friends has always been a very friendly and considerate person with beautiful dreams for our two young children: Jadah Xabrina, 7 and Xian Jed, 2. His dreams lead him to seek a better opportunity abroad thus a job as sales assistant in Abu Dhabi, UAE last April 2015, this augmented the family income from our small Ice Cream and Burger Stand at the Masbate City Public Market. Xavier’s dreams, however, is now almost certainly beyond our reach, as he suffered a brain stroke on September 13, 2016. He was rushed to and admitted in Sheikh Khalifa Medical City where he received emergency intervention. Upon admission, his blood pressure was 306/187mm/Hg, pinpoint pupils and on a coma scale of 5/15. CT scan showed a massive brainstem hemorrhage secondary to undiagnosed malignant hypertension.
He was admitted in the Intensive Care Unit for a month where he is hooked to life support system and medication via central line. Eks showed signs of healing – he opens his left eye every time his being stimulated by touch. On October 13, 2016 he was transferred from the ICU to the High Dependence Ward where he will receive the subsequent medical management. To this date however, his condition remains to be far from stable as to warrant a medical clearance for his travel back to the Philippines.
Doctors advised us to be ready for the slow, painful and expensive process for Eks recovery while in Abu Dhabi, UAE and here in the Philippines. That there will be complications and resulting impairments such as: permanent or partial paralysis, impaired speech, blindness, controlling emotions, depression, etc. which most, can now be treated through rehabilitative therapy. And it is what our family shall do for Eks no matter how long it takes.
We are earnestly asking your help to raise funds for him to be able to pay hospital bills, the large expense for his eventual travel back to the Philippines and his consequential long term care and therapeutic rehabilitation.
We hope that you find it in your heart to be generous in helping us. We are looking forward to spend more time with Xavier doing enjoyable family things. Please help him survive and ease the suffering that he is now into. We will be forever grateful for all the help that you can give us.
Thank you very much.
Sincerely yours,
JESSAMY HONNY D. ALBAO
