What I need funding for.

Home, a simple word, we ‘don’t’ have a home of our own, like most families in England it is near impossible for us to get on the ladder. An opportunity has arisen however, an empty 1930’s property that may be able to help my family and also many charities as well. The property is up for auction on the 5th December 2013. It is the perfect house and garden for our very unique family to live and flourish.

Dylan, our son is 9 and is on the autistic spectrum, his needs are many and varied.

Jemima 3,our daughter is also displaying signs of autism even at her young age.

Will (my partner) and I would like to try to buy this property as  it would go a long way to giving our children a calm and safe environment to be brought up in.

We would love to be able to give our children the ability to grow their own fruit and vegetables, to be able to care for animals that can provide food and teach them both how to be responsible for the world they live in. We want to be able to teach them about alternative fuel’s and sustainable living, so that one day they will be able to achieve this on their own.

With this property we could ‘grow our own’, keep chickens, use solar panels, use an Aga or Rayburn to heat the house, hot water and to cook, it would be like our own “The Good Life”.

As the garden is rather large we would also like to donate a portion of the land to a local support group, Parenting Additional Needs, (PAN). This is a support group for parents of children with an additional need, local to Matlock and Chesterfield. They would be able to use the land for the children to be able to ‘grow their own’ and possibly have a few other outdoor animals (rabbits, guinea pigs) for them to look after and enjoy. I am secretary for this group, as it is an issue close to my heart. They and their children could benefit greatly from a donation of land. Visit www.parentingadditionalneeds.org to find out more about our group.

I also want to preserve and enhance this unique house for future generations to enjoy. Preserving Britain’s heritage is an issue close to my heart and bringing empty properties back to use is a must, given the lack of suitable housing within Great Britain today.

How it will help.

We as many thousands of others have suffered when it comes to buying houses, due to the economy, house prices, loss of jobs and lack of mortgage availability.

Donating money for this project will help by, getting my family out of the unsuitable renting loop and stop us living in fear of our house being sold from under us. It will change our entire life by providing us the means to live life the way it should be, by growing our own, living by the seasons, respecting nature and enabling both our children to live life as sustainably as they can.

Rewards

We will pay in lieu of rent or mortgage repayments, (after a six month grace period, to enable us to carry out works to the property) £500 per month to local charities and support groups, for 3 years. After this period we will pay £800 per month to local charities and support groups, until the cost of the property has been paid.

We will also hold an annual 1930’s summer garden party, that everyone who has donated to is invited. To be held in the summer months annually for ten years. Food, music and fun.

This would give a substantial amount of money to charities that would otherwise not recieve this income.

If I fail to raise the funds needed or fail at auction, I will donate all donations to local charities and support groups.
