Save a Heart

I have always seen myself as a very happy and privileged person. Recently my world came tumbling down around me when I lost almost everyone I loved. Within 6 months I lost my godfather, my best friend, my fiance, two other friends and my mother - all in horrible accidents. I, myself was hurt very badly due to the accident that caused my mother's passing.

My world spiraled out of control, I fell into a depression. My mobility was restricted due to the injuries of the accident. I had to deal with the loss of everyone, while comforting my father who also went through a tremendous amount of pain. I turned to food as comfort and gained a tremendous amount of weight, which caused the depression to take on new levels. I did not want to see people or do anything.

Thankfully, due to the grace of God, I started lifting my head and I started to deal with everything. I still have a long way to go, but I am taking it one step at a time. I am a final year Psychology student. I have started to shift my focus and now want to use my knowledge to assist others that need desperate help to cope in their life.

I would like to raise funds in order to start a business that can fund my "Save a heart"-project. I want to give people with depression the opportunity to see that their is a light at the end of the tunnel. I want the hold week/weekend therapy sessions, where they can get out of their environment and have a hands-on approach to dealing with their grief and pain. A lot of people do not have the means to pay for such sessions and that is why I would like to start a business that can fund most, if not all, of the expenses for such sessions.
