Save 4 year old Confidence from going Blind

Little Miss Confidence Anoliefo is 4 years old and lives with her parents in the rural town of Ezi Owelle in Nigeria. She loves schooling, loves to read a lot and had said her dream is to become a medical doctor to save lives. But of late, Confidence has been having difficulties with reading; seeing the letters on the pages of a book has become very difficult. Assessment shows superotemporal subluxation of her crystalline lens in both eyes (simply put, retinal detachment). And surgery has been recommended.

Surgery for bilateral lensectomy with anterior vitrectomy and intraocular lens implant; and for bilateral prophylactic to forestall future detachment.

Confidence's father, Ifeanyi Anoliefo, is blind himself and unemployed. According to him, they had to withdraw Confidence from school as the resources are no longer available and is appealing for help.
