Sara’s fundraiser for Endometriosis treatment

Dear friends,

After 5 years of chronic pain, visits to doctors, surgery and I do not know what alternative treatments i have tried - I decided to have surgery abroad, with a well-known specialist in endometriosis dr. Gabriel Mitroi. I have surgery 24.2.

Unfortunately, this disease does not get enough attention and takes on average about 10 years to get a diagnosis. The only diagnosis is laparoscopic surgery. But they don't do fulll excision surgeries in Slovenia and most girls have the pain after a couple of months after the operation. Although Slovenian doctors tell us they do a excision surgery THIS IS NOT TRUE. They don't know how to do it. The success rate of operations in Slovenia is between 20-30% (because the tissue is burned, called ablation), and the success rate of operations abroad with a complete excision is between 70-80%. A huge amount of damage is done with incomplete surgeries and many women succumb to pain because none of the doctors tell them about the possibility of surgeries abroad. I was operated in Slovenia in July 2020, but the situation worsened after this operation. Of course, they also told me that they didn’t remove everything.

I am extremely grateful for the girls who are trying to raise awareness and because of whom I have so much knowledge and opportunities for my disease today (Endometriosis-Room of Understanding).

The operation costs about 4000 €, depending on the difficulty of the case. In some cases, resection of the intestine or other organ is required because endometriosis spreads. In more severe cases, it can also cost around € 7,000.

I can’t tell you for myself how much pain there is with me on a daily basis. How my husband suffers when he watches me cry. This is not life, really. So I ask you for help. Financial help, because I can't do it alone.

If we raise ‘too much’ money for my surgery I would like it to be a surplus for the next girl who can’t afford the surgery. So we can have some special Endo fund. ❤️
