Sarah & Kerry

My name is Sarah and I am 31 years old. I live and work in Luxembourg. Kerry is my fiancé and he is incarcerated in a prison in the USA. He is american. At the beginning we were only penpals, but we fell in love with each other and we want to spend the rest of our lifes together.

The American Innocent Project is working on Kerry's case and we have good chance to live together one day. I already requested the green card to be able to live permanent in the USA with Kerry and work there. The greencard procedure cost us a lot of money but that money is a very good investment. Despite I have two jobs here in Luxembourg, I do not earn enough to save enough money for to get me and his parents to Colorado for the court days. My last visiting of Kerry in prison was in December 2014. I miss him so much. This year Kerry will be on court again and I want to be there. His parents live in another State and cannot visit him as they do not have much rent.

At the moment, I use my salary for sending Kerry money for his groceries and phone calls. Until last week, Kerry was only able to call me only at the weekend as international phone calls cost 16.95 USD for 20 minutes, during the week it was 32.95 USD for 20 minutes. Now they changed it to 0.50 cent per minute.

The funding will be used for following espenses:

- flight ticket for me from Luxembourg to Colorado

- fligh ticket for Kerry's parents from Florida to Colorado

- rent for the room or flat (We would stay in a private place found on airbnb.com as it is cheaper than a hotel room)

- rental car

When everything goes well and Kerry gets out, we want to live in the USA and built our future together.
