Hello!
My name is Jason Saboury, I'm an artist with a vision. In 2017, I started working at a fabrication startup in Downtown Los Angeles, as a company we have been making positive connections with the surrounding residents, other businesses, and community leaders.
Santee Public Gallery is located in a rough part of town, seeing heavy criminal activity, homelessness, drug abuse, poverty just outside of our doorstep has been an incredibly jarring experience, but has also pushed and given me opportunities to see the truths behind why I was here to make. I was going to take my opportunities to make something more for the neighborhood and the city I love, for the artists who have already invested in it because they believe in the vision and themselves as activists and artists.
Santee Public Gallery was established in April of 2018. We have already begun painting and now have a collection of 200+ contributing artists to date! All of the artists involved retain 100% of rights to their work.
WE ARE ACCEPTING ANY FORMS OF DONATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
From reclaimed paint, new paint, half cans, lifts, ladders, scaffolding to finding those few angel investors who believe that every city should have a free and open creative space! .
ANY sized donation will go toward paint/supplies for the artists involved. I am not profiting from this project and all money donated will be used to help artists to serve more communities that are in need of inspiration through the arts. I plan on using the money to create opportunities and programming for at risk youth in the area, affected by these issues on a daily basis.
I NEED your help to maintain a space in Downtown Los Angeles where ANYONE can feel they can be creative!
