Hi, My name is Sandy McLatchie.  I am a follower of Jesus, wife to my best friend, and mom to 7 amazing children.  I also work full time as a RN. God began putting a passion for the people of Thailand.  I was reminded of a question recently that I was asked, "If you could do anything for God and money is no object. what would you do?"  My response was that I wanted to start a street ministry for prostitutes!  I wasn't sure how that would ever come about. Fast forward to a couple months ago.  My church, River Valley Alliance Church, began discussing the possibility of an adult missions trip....to Thailand!  I knew that God was the one calling me to go.  He began to burden my heart for the women and children that are in the sex industry of Thailand.  I began reading books and was horrified at stories that I read.  The more I read, the more that I needed to go. I came across a quote from William Wilberforce, "You may choose to look the other way but you can never say again that you did not know." There is a team of 12 adults that will be going to Bangkok, Thailand June 12-20, 2015.  During our short term trip, we have the opportunity for building relationships with people in Thailand, share the message of Jesus, be a part of children's and orphanage ministries, prayer walks and ministering in the Red Light District.  God has called me to go to the Red Light District. While Thailand is a beautiful country, there is so much spiritual darkness present.  The country is 95% Buddhist.  There are 2.8 million people that work in the sex industry in Bangkok.  Of those, 800,000 are children that are betrayed, tricked and sold into the sex industry. The Good News....Jesus' light can shine brightest where it is dark. I have put together this project so that each of YOU can be a part of my team.  Here's how you can be involved in this ministry: 1. Pray....it is only through God's power that lives can and will be changed. 2. Pray for the entire team as we plan each detail of this trip. 3. Through a financial donation.  My goal is to raise $3800.00.  The majority of that money is for airfare.  I would be grateful for a donation that you may be able to give.  You may give directly through this website safely and securely, or you may contact me through facebook message or email at [email protected].  All donations are tax-deductible. Thank you for praying and seeking how God would have you be a part of this mission's trip. Sandy McLatchie
