The Purpose of This Fundraiser
I love my dog so much, he’s my best friend, his name is Sam and he has recently developed cataracts. It pains me to see his sight diminish so rapidly: bumping into things more often now and quivering at the mere sight of sharp movement. These cataracts have not just robbed him of his sight but have robbed him of his playful spirit; he no longer runs, he’s not as responsive towards other people and has now started withdrawing from his usual self. He’s not an old dog, which is why the onset of this disease has come as such a shock. I don’t want him to live in a world that he can’t see anymore and I don’t want him to forget what I look like, he’s such a friendly and loveable dog. I only want the best for him.
What the Money Will Be Used For
I’ve created this fundraising page to help pay for his cataracts surgery. With me and my mum only having low-paid jobs, it’s hard to scrape the money together to pay for this expensive procedure. In total I’m hoping to fundraise £4,600. This total is summed up by the cost of the surgery (£2,000 per eye) and the rest is to cover any potential aftercare costs.
Please give whatever you can. Every single penny is valuable in this journey to helping my dog see again.
About the Owner
My name is Steven; I live in a small hamlet near Doncaster in England. There are not many opportunities where I come from, which I guess comes with the territory of living in a rural area and so it limits what I can do to raise money. That doesn’t stop me however from doing what I can and making new opportunities for myself. This is why I’ve joined this site to branch out to different people around the globe, hoping to find enough who will open up their hearts to aid me in reaching my target.
