“The hands that give are the hands that receive”

The St Stithians Boys’ College Interact Club, situated in Johannesburg, is a Rotary International associated club focused on making a difference in our community and assisting those in their time of need. We believe that the small things in life, have a massive impact on the hearts and minds of many in our current society and our vision is to assist communities through fund raising and social interaction.

Globally, we are at war with COVID-19 and the impact has been unprecedented. As a club supporting various charities (CHOC, Hotel Hope, JAM , Mission House, Rays of Hope), this pandemic has severely limited our ability to raise funds as our reliance on social gatherings and social events has been severely curtailed.

In South Africa, more than a million people have become unemployed and as a result, are unable to support their families. They need our help! The statistics are staggering. A 30,1%, unemployment rate which leaves over 17 million South African citizens without a job or at least a constant flow of income. More and more communities are unable to sustain themselves and this means more hunger and misery. We want to help with your help!

The Interact Club aims to help break the chains of poverty in South Africa and with your support, we can take that first step together. The deep rooted Ubuntu concept “that of common humanity, oneness: humanity, you and me both” holds true more than ever right now. We are only people because of other people so let’s show the deeply rooted Ubuntu instilled in every heart. Especially during an unprecedented time like this, your generosity will help more than ever.

Your donations and financial assistance will satisfy the most immediate needs but will also help us build a better South Africa. Your kindness and compassion will forever be in the hearts of those you touched, even though they may never know who you are as a person, they will always know your kindness. We reap what we sow, so what we give out is what we get back. The greatest gift you can give is to place others above self.
