Dear People,

I hope this finds you well

I am the founder and coordinator of Saints.

Saints is in need of desperate help and any form of assistance or contribution. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

From a young age, sports has always been a great source of learning for me. I'd aspired to be a footballer or a coach but that didn't work out as I'd like although I did involve myself in various activities involving football albeit at an amateur level.

Whilst studying at University, I attempted to pursue a professional football career but unfortunately in 2012, the year of my graduation, my health took a turn for the worse and I was diagnosed with neurological disorders; from spinal stenosis to rheumatoid arthritis, linked to a number of discord and imbalances in my body. I lost motor function in my neck, arms, hands and legs. For years I've been fighting to regain normalcy in my body, from loss of hearing in one ear to flashes of blindness in one eye. To being wheelchair bound, immobile and unable to digest food. I did put up a fight, a good enough fight to walk again, there are still some scars and symptoms I battle with but I’m certain I’ll overcome all of them.

During my final stages of recovery and convalescence, I discovered Pilates, Tai-Chi and Yoga. Things that were oblivious to me but which played a massive role in parts of my recovery. Through these discoveries, I in turn began to teach what I learned to friends and this is where I founded Saints; initially a group focused on improving various areas of our life, not only in a spiritual and mental aspect but also to start and maintain an active lifestyle but we grew to daily meetings on how to eat, exercise and live. We would meet up every second day to exercise and evaluate our progress every month. I then decided to form a football team so that we could enter a competitive setting and do something we liked. For two years (mid 2015-2017) it was a struggle to get games/matches/competitions as we were not a club. We mainly played friendlies, which was about one game every two months because getting opposition was difficult on top of playing on poor pitches. There were some good days also, when we'd get lucky with good opposition and a good pitch where I’d pay a fee for the duration offered. During this period I searched fervently for a league to join, any league, even if it were a rookie league and stumbled across Dixi Sports.

Dixi Sports is a company that organizes pitches and matches for corporate companies. Despite not being a company but just an informal group, I managed to pay and get us registered for 2018.

To my amazement, we did well enough to retain our status in the Division A for this year, 2019. So I write this with an emotional and somewhat desperate plea. This is actually my last resort, and I'd be lying if I didn't say it is awkward or embarrassing on my part.

Last year I was able to raise the money for registration and everything went well but unfortunately it's been a major struggle to come up with a total of R17,150(please don't let this deter you, cause even a small contribution could really help) for registration this year. The idea was to get each of the members to contribute but it has been a total struggle due to an inexplicable amount of misfortune, from student registrations and others who have just started work and are unable to contribute without causing destruction upon themselves. I've been lucky enough to have contributed in getting us a kit and equipment but paying off the total registration seems to be a huge task.

The league has given us till the 29 March or we'll be removed from the league. It'll be a great tragedy if it were all to fall apart especially in a moment where I think our growth is becoming evident, it is just the finance part that seems to be an obstacle. Even a portion of your contribution would be the greatest thing ever. I humbly and deeply ask you for this assistance. It would mean the world to the team but especially to me and Lord be with me, I'll find a way to make it up to you. If we have to place your brand's name on shirts or something of the like, we will do so. Please help.
