Campaign Story
St. Lawrence Lodge is a service startup to provide an alternative to perpetual institutionalizations of certain mental afflictions. We discovered the necessity when I testified at a friend's mental commitment hearing and discovered the high cost to the taxpayers with no end in sight.
We thought we could deliver a superior service for much less cost, with a focus on rehabilitation through a multi-disciplined approach. This means we will use vocational, recreational, intellectual, nutritional and appropriately supervised professional therapies with clients who show a potential to be fully reintegrated as productive citizens.
The staff standing by has experience in drug and alcohol treatment, group home resident staffing, law enforcement oversight, certified public accountant, and many vocational skills with which to engage our wards.
Our site has startup costs. Furnishings, supplies, utilities, clothing, an appropriate vehicle, insurance, website service, and rent. We will take material donations if the donor can get them to south central Wisconsin.
Several social services agencies have already expressed an interest in this alternative we are creating, but we cannot sign a contract until we are turnkey ready.
